Liv (Olivia) Wu is an author, chef, journalist, program manager, teacher, health counselor and yogi; most of her work is concerned with transformation. She was executive chef, then food program manager for 9 years at Google headquarters in California. There she launched the teaching kitchen and an innovative, hands-on curriculum called Code for Cooks, which enrolled 3,000 employees in 3 years. It is a course in recipe-free cooking. The teaching kitchen program offered team building activities and classes on diverse subjects, celebrity guest chefs and authors, nutrition, wellness and mindfulness. Previously, as food writer at the San Francisco Chronicle and Chicago Sun Times (as Olivia Wu); her specialties were health, sustainable agriculture and seafood, family traditions, recipe development and Asian flavors. Born in Shanghai and raised in Bangkok, she came to the US as a foreign student. She is currently working on her third book, and is about to launch liv cook eat: a learning kitchen, consultancy and website.
