Expertise: Food Safety Modernization Act, HACCP, regulatory compliance and enforcement, public health, integrated pest management, quality systems and food defence programs.
Bridget Sweet oversees the compliance of all JWU campuses within every level of established food safety standards set forth by governmental agencies and the universities own strict guidelines. She is a valued asset for the State of Rhode Island in its development of food safety initiatives; an advocate for reliable and relevant food safety education and practices; and member of several state and federal task forces.
Bridget is a technical expert on food safety matters and her list of professional credentials includes: Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian (REHS/RS), Certified Professional-Food Safety (CP-FS), Certified HACCP Manager, FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food Lead Instructor, Certified ServSafe Instructor, and Managing Retail Food Safety Certified Trainer. Her professional and personal interests are in global food issues including; sustainable agriculture, food insecurity and safe food donations/recovery.
