Dianne Sutherland, RD, LDN has been working at the University of Massachusetts Dining Services for over 30 years where there are currently over 23,500 students on the meal plan.  Her responsibilities focus on nutrient analysis, menu coding, assigning allergens to inventory items, coding of special events to ensure the safety of students with food allergies and special dietary needs.  She is also a co-director of the UMass 5K Dash & Dine.  She developed a food allergy policy and has seen the number of food allergies increase from 250 to 1750 over the last five years.  She is a Master Trainer of Food Allergies via AllerTrain.  She also mentors undergraduate, graduate students and dietetic interns and is a consultant for research with the UMass Health Study.  She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, Massachusetts Dietetic Association, Western Area Massachusetts Dietetic Association, and National Association of Colleges and Universities Food Services (NACUFS).  She is a member of the Dietetic Practice Groups:  Food and Culinary Professionals.
