Born in Sidney, Australia Nick Zakharoff has lived in most parts of the United States, and has traveled worldwide. His career began as a Chefs apprenticeship with the Hilton Corporation in Seattle and furthered his culinary skills at SSCC in Seattle, Washington. He then spent many years with the Sheraton Corporation where he worked and opened and assisted with six hotels and also ran their flagship hotel, the Sheraton Washington, a 1500 room convention hotel with 200,000 sq. feet of exhibit space in Washington DC. During his tenure in Washington DC he was also an unofficial culinary recruiter for the Sheraton Corporation. Most recently he spend 20 years as the Ex Chef of the Harvard Club in Boston, 2 years in Canada as a NAFTA Management Consultant, a Certified and licensed Executive Director for Assisted Living and Running his own consulting company Culivation, Corp.
Chef Zakharoff is a certified executive chef (CEC) with the ACF since 1988. He is one of a handful of American chefs who has competed in the International Culinary Olympics held in Frankfurt, Germany every four years and has a gold medal to his credit, along with numerous other silver and gold medals, both domestically and internationally. He is also a certified ACF culinary arts competition judge in all forms of hot food, cold food, dessert and ice carving competitions.
